Our Story

         There are an abundance of resources available to NJIT students seeking to partake in entrepreneurial  

   endeavors.  The NJIT campus offers student entrepreneurs access to the Enterprise Development Center,

   innumerable classes whose main focus is innovation, a plethora of award-winning staff and faculty members,

   modern facilities designed to spur creativity, and contact with influential business people who are keenly

   interested in developing student potential.  Therefore, the NJIT student body should be on the cutting edge of

   innovation and exemplifying to other universities nation-wide how to empower bold entrepreneurial ventures.

         Unfortunately, this was once not the reality.  While many businesses and research efforts are aided by the

   availability of resources at NJIT, the student population remained woefully unaware of the opportunities

   available to them.  A majority of the students have never even heard of the Entrepreneurial Development Center,

   the regions largest entrepreneurial technology incubator, and those who have would be unable to point you in

   the right direction if you were to ask them how to get there.

         The creation of the Innovation Acceleration Club at NJIT University serves to inform and assist students in

   their new business endeavors.  It stresses that the pieces are already in place to empower students to do

   extraordinary things.  It is a matter of marshaling the available resources and presenting them to students in a

   structure that they can understand.

        Our objective is to assist and empower students.  This objective is broad and simple; purposely so to maintain

   flexibility.  Also, an organization that can remember and work toward a civic minded goal such as this has a

   greater chance of success for various reasons.  This overarching objective should always be at the heart of this

   club.  Our primary objectives are to teach students what it is really like to start a business and help students win

   club-related competitions.
